Thunderhill 2010

Well it’s about time for an update, many months later. What really happened was not worth writing home about which is what prompted the very delayed post update.

Long story short, our roll cage was failed during tech inspection, something we saw coming but was hedging our bets on getting our cage grandfathered in just one more time. In efforts to try and save money we basically did the opposite. The z-car will race again, we are just not sure when as we were all pretty burnt out after making a huge effort to get the car ready again, then being sent home shortly after appearing at the track.

That’s about it for now. There will be two races at Infineon Raceway, we’ll hopefully be attending at least one of them.

Thunderhill 2010 – Day 2

Well actually it’s day 3 but day 2 (and probably some extra days) really mostly involved bringing the car down to the South Bay Area, which in my opinion was a great idea because around this time of the year, Davis, CA gets quite hot and humid, and my garage isn’t air conditioned.

Thunderhill 2010 – Day 1

I’ll let the pictures do the talking. There are a number of things we have to tackle, such as, but not limited to: New roll cage main hoop rear braces, replace brakes, replace expendable items on engine (like plugs, oil, filters), and while we’re at it, reinforce the cage and replace the radiator.

Thunderhill 2010 – Arse Sweat-a-palooza

It’s been a while but here we are again. We had skipped the May Thunderhill due to various constraints, but now we are applying for the August Thunderhill race.

No new updates, the Z-car has just been sitting on the trailer all this time. Should we get accepted, there are a number of things that need to be fixed in order to be Lemons-race-legal again.

Additionally, at the Infineon race we were able to pit next to 2 other Z-car teams. It would be fantastic if we could coordinate something like that again and have all the Z-car teams in one area. Infineon 2010

Added a couple of updates, to make the story more accurate.

Well it has finally come and gone. I’ll make this a photo blog entry. All I have to say is that Infineon raceway is a fantastic track and I hope they will let us back in again next time/season/year.
